Plutonic times call for Plutonic remedies.
The South Node is in Scorpio, and so the ruler of the collective karmic point is Pluto. Pluto rules death, transformation, power struggles, trauma, transitions, intensity, the occult, darkness, magic, sexuality, taboo, and anything that lies underneath the surface.
Fireweed is a flower that grows in disturbed lands. As the name denotes, that often means land impacted by forest fires. Something destructive (Plutonic) occurred to change the landscape so dramatically and up pops this beautiful bright pink flower. The lesson of Fireweed is that beautiful things grow from death, decay, and waste. So it draws out the North Node in Taurus—the dharmic direction of the collective—as well, since Taurus is a focus on the abundant, the fruitful, the beauty of life, the pleasantries, harmony, stability, and self-esteem.
So if you are willing to go through the flames of the Hades abode, there is rich reward, especially considering these nodes. It’s not meant to be an easy path from the South Node to the North Node. And with Scorpio and Pluto, there are lots of shadowy layers that are revealed to us. Intense emotions like rage and deep mourning may come of it. A letting go of a powerless self that sought to exist for the other.
All the emotions and thoughts and feelings that we don’t want to accept within ourselves are trying to get our attention. With Pluto, there is usually a lot of pain, obsession, abandonment, jealousy. When we allow ourselves to get to the bottom of it—not just in our minds—but the deep feeling and purging of the emotions, we get a cathartic release throughout the body.
Fireweed is a wonderful flower essence remedy to assist anyone who is struggling in the Scorpionic process of releasing emotional traumas that come back in the form of bad memories that are hard to move past. It helps build resilience in us through difficult and trying times. And it helps get us to Taurus on the other side with more of a sense of peace, inner love, self-esteem, and stability as a result. To see instead the hero that came out of the trauma who still lives and carries on today. To redefine the story of the past that often traps us into loops of pessimism and even nihilism.
If you are really wanting to take this process a step further, you can go to land that has experienced forest fires and collect some fireweed petals to make your own flower essence at home. When you forage for your own essences and herbs, you are connecting to that land and its history. With Fireweed, to its trauma. And the Fireweed, thereby bringing the healing and the beauty back to the disturbed land. It makes for a much more powerful experience if you do have the chance to do this. It reminds you that you too can heal. You too can let go of the old pain. You too can become resilient and be open once again to the beauty of life even through its tumultuous trials.
For flower essences, it’s best to stick to one remedy at a time so that you know how the remedy is impacting you. If you feel drawn to fireweed, take 4 drops under the tongue 4x a day for a month and see the subtle yet profound shifts that have resulted. Make sure you take the remedy away from food or drink.
